Here is a good link to a site giving some information on the 226 Flathead engine. (180 lb ft torque (@1500 rpm)& 95 HP)

Link

But this only answers the question of what is the HP / torque of a Ford Flathead 226 engine... and you asked about the Funk conversion. Reality is that the 8N tractor (frame, tranny, diffy, etc...) can not take the torque that the 226 engine can deliver. Something will SNAP! I have not done it to mine, but I hear that the pinion gear in the diffy is the first to go.

1958 Chiltons auto repair manual. 1950-51 6 cyl., L Head, 3 19/64 Bore and 4 13/32 stroke, Advertised Horsepower 95@3300RPM, AMA horsepower 26.1 so there is a great deal of differences in way horsepower is figured. I think that Funk 6 cylinder if you hooked it to a PTO dyno it would read around 45 HP at PTO speed of 540 RPM base on work they would do compaired to equivilant tractor

At an engine speed of about 1,550 rpm to get 540 rpm at the PTO, your guess of 45 hp. may even be a bit optomistic. It takes about 350 or more cu.in. overhead valve to get 80 or 90 PTO hp. in the last of the gas-powered tractors in the 1960-70s.Mike-Iowa

This engine was a favourite thing for Hot-Rodders to "soup Up" back in the late 40's until now! Depends upon your budget, as to how much HP the engine can be coaxed to produce, maybe these guys would be the people to ask! Massive Torque! Good luck!!

The 226 cid 6 cyl flathead Ford was rated at 90hp @ 3300 rpm with 180 ftlbs torque starting build in 1941. Around 1948 they moved the distributor to the side and with a few tweaks upped the hp to 95 @ 3300 rpm. It remained with the second ratings until it was replaced in 1952 with the ohv 215 engine.
