My indian friend stopped by for a visit today, it was good to see him. Thing is, Patience-of-Job has eyes of hawk, and sees all things wrong with tractor. He pointed out a few things that were right with the Old Warrior, and a few more things that were wrong. I now have a cracked hyd over flow line to fix (easy), and he also spotted an old high pressure leak on the gasket surface of the center section (not so easy). But then he eyed my front end and spotted the cause of a long standing problem with my radiator mount, and told me how to fix it. Old Warrior's radiator is straight now, and it fired right up without any more complaining about the fan shroud. Thank you Patience-of-Job, may your Project Rustbucket run long and strong.

Great to see you today Keith - and thanks a ton for the hydraulic piping. I bead blasted it and then blew the pipes out REAL well with compressed air to ensure none of the sharp pointy granules start working on my soon to be new lift control valve. I'll run some hydraulic oil through it to make doubly sure it is clean. Decided to try to repair my hood and doglegs after we met, the left side was a goner, as you saw, and I had to chisel out the spot welds so I could seperate it from the hood for a new aftermarket dogleg, but the rest of the rips was weld-repaired by my Father-in-Law that is a master at the MIG welder - even the wide rip in the front! It is all ground down smooth and will be undetectable to the human eye when painted. Pounded out some dents and smoothed some creases. Looks like Project Rustbucket's hood will live again (or at least most of it). Didn't get a chance to sandblast today, so that will have to be next weekend. Then it is off to a local paint shop who quoted me $200 for ALL my sheet metal, fenders, and wheel centers :)

Old Warrior is coming along great, and you are doing a much better job than I. Can't wait to see it completed. But then again - your favorite online parts supplier will be VERY sad! After visiting with you awhile I know the few spots I saw will be fixed better than new before you put it back together. Glad to hear your fan shroud problem was a quick fix. Thanks again for the brake adjuster slot covers - I will put them to good use as none of my other two tractors have them. Really enjoyed talking with someone who is as consumed as I am with "The Disease".

Keep up the good work,
Dan
