hey all, I havent written in a while, I havent even worked on my N's in a while, but I got this one in the barn today to start getting her ready for paint, the paint on her now aint bad, just have to fix a few t hings , I have been meaning to for a while replace the radius arm, well I got it off today. IT had only half a bolt in her and that had been welded to the arm, I noticed the other side was the same way, what a pain, lots of grinding and banging later finally got the bent left side off and replaced, got the right side off but need to do more banging as the bolt is bent I think, I got it started but had to apply more penatrating oil, what I would do to give te guy the few dollars it wouold have taken to put in teh right bolts instead of welding, but that is what makes it fun working on these things, it was definatly theoropy. just wanted to share, also this is a bad picture but the only one I had, I remember I was working on my 9n and you all said pictures so here it is, pat

Pat - reminds me of the first set of radius arm pins I had to remove off my 48 8N trailor queen. The axle was still on the tractor, so I had to pound the broken pin out from the bottom. It took me several days of heating, putting penetrating oil on, drilling, and pounding to finally get those pins out. The set I put back in was coated with a liberal dose of anti-seize!

I hope I never have to do that again!

Dan
