Went out this AM to tangle with the beast again.
More than a little worried about those ominous posts regarding an engine that won't turn over last night. I was sitting looking it over and decided to grab the fan and turn it. Fan turned but the belt slipped. Reached out and grabbed a rear tire and rocked it. Put it in gear and rocked it and the big pulley at the front bottom rocked with it...BIG sigh of relief. Pushed the start button and hit the starter a few raps with a hammer. Nuttin. Took ALL the wires off again and cleaned them a second time. Put it all together and she cranked. All that over a bad connection. If you want to throw in a few "I told you so's" I won't hold it agin ya. Thanks for the help once more!

I'm sure that now you are a firm beleiver in Dell's catch phrase "Clean, Bright, and Tight"....! Atta boy for stickin with it and getting it to go again. I was about to cuss a blue streak when I got to the same point on my 2N. Just about worries you to death and you fear the worst but you breath easy and laugh in retrospect at how simple the problem really was. Good for you!

Right here, of course! I'm 15 and visit this sight almost daily. But then you'd have to give up your puter cause this site is so great.

How come I think this is not an epilogue but rather the latest chapter?

What"s next?

You gonna bury it mowing that cattail overgrown hay meadow of yours?

Naw, I got a Farmall for that. I thought that other fella might make me an offer on it, but then he went an ordered his manuals which shows he has more sense than we gave him credit for.

As to that other, I don't want to give anything away so read it when it hits the newsstands! But I'll give you a hint....I am gonna powerwash the gook off the engine and then I am gonna change the oil. Then I am gonna hope she don't smoke so bad anymore but if she does I guess I'll be doing the compression test stuff you guys posted for me.
I have it all printed out here somewheres. If she don't smoke, I'll be looking for a new wiring harness and getting all of that stuff up to speed.
After that..... ..... ..... ...

6'er,
No I-T-Y-S's from here. You solved one of the most elusive problems you can come up against. No sign posts to say this or that is bad or here it is. And even when ya find it, it looks at ya and says, "Not ME!" Good at ya.
