Hey guys! The little screen thingy that sits above the oil pan plug is still with the tractor as I thought. It is sitting up inside the hole.
Is it supposed to come out with the plug? If so, can I fish it out of there and reattach it somehow or do I need to make that hour trip to the parts place to get a new one? Don't mind either way but I do like to keep the original stuff where possible.

Mine was soldered. i soppose you could use choke cleaner and get it squeaky clean and jb weld it.. but I'd just get a new one.etc.

Oh well. If it was soldered and it is loose all the way around now, chances are something et thru the screen and it isn't fixable. I have a goal with this tractor to make it as nice as possible on as little ($$$) as possible and to learn as much as I can in the process. This one I guess I just take the hit, but not now because I need to reassemble and can't get the part for a few weeks.

If you do have it apart, and have jbweld and choke cleaner on hand.. Id at least try it. Clean the plug on the inside area, and same with the screen.. Try a dolop of jbweld on one side and then the other.. let cure. JB weld is gas/oil resistant once cured, and if bonded to a clean surface.

If you don't have it.. just get a new one when possible..

It is supposed to be attached to the plug, however, I don't know how it is attached. May be a friction fit or some kind of adhesive, James
