Dash Bolt Question

Well, my 1947 8N had her maiden voyage last night after sitting the majority of a year while I fixed her up. It looks like I'm going to need some front bearings and an adjustment in the carb (runs best at half-choke), but other than that, she looks and runs pretty good!

I had a post a few weeks back on a damaged steering column shaft and ended up ordering a die to rethread the damaged end and everything went on great. I did have some issues with the new paint not grounding my headlights, but a second line back to the battery ground took care of that problem as well.

Now on to my question. The 4 bolts that mount the dash and hood together don't want to go in very smoothly and I was wanting to get some nice stainless bolts anyway, but I can't seem to find a size reference on them anywhere. Do any of you know the size/threading/length of these?

As usual, your help is much appreciated! Pictures will come as soon as I mount my tail light and implement light.

Thanks,
Justin

The original are better, in light of the difficulty you're having with the old ones. If you think the old ones are giving you a problem, the stainless will have you pulling your hair out if they get gaulled up by not so perfect nut threads.

BTW- the two bolts that hold the air cleaner bracket on are also chrome plated.

We anxiously await the pics!

Justin..... ...the domehead dash bolts are p/n 355494-S8, 3/8-24x0.84" hexbolt. 3/8-24 is FINE thread. S8 means Zink plate. But I always thought my dashbolts were chrome plated. Dashbolts are still available from N-Tractor parts speciality houses..... ..Dell

Ahh, thanks Dell! Much appreciated. I'll pick a couple up this afternoon.
