I just purchased a new 6 volt coil. The old coil is marked batt / field. Terrific. The new coil is marked only + and -. The question is: If the electrical system is positive ground, then the hot wire goes to the negative terminal and the positive to the distributor??? or vise versa?
I'm so conflicted!

Roger..... ..the rule is (+) to (+) meaning the coil plus connects to the battery plus. Since yer sidemount 8N should be positive ground, thats what that big flat braid is supposted to be connected to the battery positive (+) post; that means yer new roundcan ignition coil (+) connects to the ignition points which are GROUND. ...ie... (+) to (+) Simple, eh?..... ....respectfully, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
