Just got back from My property in Vermont. It's 230 miles from where I live in Ct. so It's not that easy to be able to work on it or to get some seat time. Uncovered it for the first time this year. I wanted to start it to change the oil. Put the battery in it and turned the key on, Hit the starter button without choking it and it started right up. The clutch wasn't stuck so I was very happy. Hooked up the mower and got some quality seat time. It's a 1941 9n. Thats why these old tractors are so popular. This board is so great with help for problems. Luckily I have none right now. Life is good. Rick

Yea, these are great old machines. Chapter III of the 8N owners manual has a lot of good advice on storage. The only one I disagree w/ is 12; leaving an empty gas tank w/ the cap off will get you mice & other stuff in the tank. I'm for filling it up & adding fuel stablizer.

Hi Rick: I am in Charlotte, VT. I didn't think you could get 240 miles away from CT?? Anyway, like to happily announce that the ONLY store in VT now that supplies tractor parts-(Except FNH) as we see it-- is the newly opened TSC store in Bennington. One is due to open in Rutland-- ( they are working on the building now) and 4 others are planned for around the state. This is a good thing for us, in my view, because to my knowlege after Country Tractor folded, there were NO tractor supply-type store in VT. I was in the one in Bennington yesterday buying some parts for my 2N and even some PAINT! (Well, maybe for later).
Anyway, glad to see you mowed-- I'm getting seat time every 4 days with 4A of grass (I call it lawn, my wife says Cowgrass and weeds. I say, it's all green.... and need cutting...

Carl The land is in Leicester. My wife's family lives near Rutland. Was very happy to find out Tractor Supply was coming to Rutland. Looks like it won't be long before it opens. Rick
