Hello everyone,

Got my 8n running again today for the first time since winter of 04. Last December the water pump went out while searching for a Christmas tree. My parents got me a new pump for Christmas. It took me awhile to get it going. First time I put the pump on the gasket didn't seal (leaked antifreeze out everywhere) Second time I made a couple of homemade gaskets out of cork and it sealed fine, BUT the metal cracked on the bottom of the pump. It's hard to believe that hand tightening the nuts would crack the housing that easily. Fortunately Just 8n's guarantees their pumps and exchanged it. Put the new pump on (third time doing this) and it is fine. However the tractor wouldn't start.

After doing some troubleshooting, we found the plugs weren't getting fire. Pulled the distributor cap and found that the points were sticking. I guess maybe sitting for 6 months could have caused that? Anyway I am glad to finally get my N running again.

Scott
