Hi All,

I'm at home now after having inguinal hernia surgery last week.

I've lived with various levels of groin pain in my left side for the last several years, especially after a lot of bending and stooping or heavy lifting.

I've been to numerous doctors and had numerous tests and examinations to no avail. Last year, I had a Dr. tell me I didn't have a hernia and asked me if I was depressed.

I finally found a Dr. who seemed to have a high level of medical knowledge and professional skill (and willing to spend more than 10 minutes with me) that found a small hernia in my left side groin area.

I'm sore and uncomfortable but the surgery seems to have been successful and am looking forward to my recovery and no more chronic groin pain.

Happy Fathers Day to all you Fathers.

Rick H. Ga.

Glad to hear that you finally had good luck with the drawing of doctors. You do know it's a game of chance?????

I guess you saw that big bulge that I had down in Georgia when we were talking at the show. It was left over from an anurysm surgery back in 1995 that never really let my belly grow back together. It finally got strangulated back on October and I had to be rushed to the hospital moaning and groaning and had emergency surgery. I too got lucky this time and the surgeon did a fantastic job of repairing my poor old belly. It actually looks like a human being's belly now! This was the second time it was "fixed". The first time it was worse when that doctor got done than when he started. It's the luck of the draw you know. You will never find any doctor that will be the least bit critical of another one even if the other one accidentally cuts you head off.

THE BEST surgery for hernia in the ENTIRE WORLD is in Toronto at SHOULDICE SURGERY at (I believe) 7750 Bayview Avenue.
This hospital does ONLY hernia repairs...there is NONE better...some of their surgeons have done probably 30,000 hernia repairs or more...the fix is guaranteed for life...you are conscious while it is done...and a few hours (very few) after you will be doing floor exercises and stretching...and a day or so later you can drive yourself home...without fear of future lifting of heavy objects...so if yours fails...YOU KNOW WHO CAN FIX IT....many American patients at this hospital. They have been in business for a great many years.
I do however, wish you all the best!
I am a happy Shouldice success case!

Glad to hear it worked out for you bud. I hope this is indeed the cause of your pain and you will be back in the saddle again soon.

Happy Fathers Day to you as well,
Dan

Rick, Don't get in a hurry to do a bunch of work like I did. I had surgery a month ago was off work only 2 weeks of the 6 I was suppose to be off. After I conned the doctor into releasing me. Then turned around and tore the stitches loose and was taken off work another week. I'm back to work agian, but on light duty { 20 pound weight restriction} till the 10th of july. Good Luck and as Dell said don't sneeze or cough. John
