Got coolant in crankcase (white emulsion), and exhaust gas bubbles in radiator when running. Compression is 110-120 in all 4 cyl. Rusty appearance in area of #1 cylinder when head removed. Where might leak(s) be occurring?

Did it have a tstat?

Did you pull the pan to see the emulsion of was it on the dipstick or what?

Head might be cracked or broken but that doesn"t explain the emulsion.

If you are lucky.. it was a slight head gasket leak.. if you aren't lucky.. a block leak.

I'd clean up the block deck and head and try a nice soft fiber gasket.. and see where that gets you.

Replaced head gasket with fiber type; compression still good (110-120), but problems persist -- exhaust bubbles in coolant, coolant in crankcase. Would it be worth removing the intake and exhaust mainfolds?

Won't hurt.. but probably won't get you anywhere. If the head gasket didn't correct it.. the block needs to go in for a crack check. bad part is these engines are dry sleave.. so for there to be a leak.. something substantial has been damaged..
