1st, Thanks to souNdguy, Ultradog MN and Bob McWhorter, I now have a firm understanding of my new 711 loader.

Does anyone know where I might find a general purpose bucket for it?

How about just a plain ole 40" dirt bucket. I could modify it to fit.

Also, the 711 has a jack stand that allows you to take it off. I really could use one of those as well!

Thanks in advance!
Patrick

Patrick,

Did you get copies of the loader manuals from the other fella's? If not, I have electronic copies (pdf format) of manuals and parts books for these. I'd be happy to email it to you if you'd like.

Patrick, The trick to making your own bucket is "the side panels". Just go to your local dealer with a large piece of cardboard, make a pattern of the end of one of the late model buckets. I just made 60 in for a freeman loader. If I was a little closer to you would come up a give you my pattern.HTH...Keith...NE OR

Keith, Great idea! Good pic! Thanks!

Where in NE OR are you? My wife and I spend a week to 10 days in Joseph, the Imnaha River Valley and Pendleton area every year in Sept.

Thanks again!
Patrick

Shot why not make your own, I've made and fixed a lot of them. Also that way you have just what you want and nobody else will have on like it.

Old, I don't know if I am as gifted as you when it comes to making one! However, I'd be willing to try. Afterall, I got into this antique tractor thing in the 1st place! :-)

Just need to know where to begin!

Thanks!
Patrick

Really not that hard to make them, go look at other buckets for loaders and mybe even take a few pictures and then just go from there.
I guess you could send me an e-mail and I could take a picture or 2 of buckets I have remade in the last year or 2.

Yeah, where to begin? in reply to Patrick/N-Tiques/OR, 06-22-2005 15:25:42
I need to make one too. I've never seen one and have no idea what to make. Of coarse it might help if I would put my loader on my tractor. I could get a visual on how it would need to be. I'm getting closer to mounting it. Just got my brackets out of the parts washer. Clean with lacquer thinner, prime, and paint. Ready to go. Now Patrick, if you could just tell me where the brackets go i'll be all set. Eric

I'm thinking about modifying a trailer tounge jack to work on my 711. It seems like the easiest place to start, and the height adjustment would be handy, particularly since I don't have a paved floor to work with. Even with pavement, a trailer jack with a wheel would be even more useful.

Eric, You're mounting it to an 881, right? These brackets are pretty simple. I can send you pics of mine if you want to see the details.

John,
I have been thinking of doing this as well. The one thing to consider about a jack with a wheel is that it would be tough to move it in grass. I am thinking of doing a wheel jack and using a piece of 3/4" plywood as a platform for the wheel while on grass.

Thanks!
P

Yes 881 in reply to John in MI, 06-22-2005 17:08:20
hey John, thanks for the offer. I feel like an idiot. I have the loader manual and other paperwork for it. Unfortunately nothing I have acctually shows exactly where and how the brackets attach to the tractor. I'm sure it will make a lot more sense when I get the two close to each other. The problem is, the tractor being at the property 70 miles away. Most of the time the only day I can go up is Sunday. The hardware and auto parts stores are closed. The issue is prepairing everything I need ahead of time so as not to waste a couple of hours on the road just to learn I need one more bolt and it will be another week before I can work on it again. WA, Wa, Wa. Anyway, Some pictures and even bolt sizes and quantities would be great information. A lot to ask I know. Whatever you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric

The front bracket:

The side bracket (the best pic that I have handy):

The bottom bracket:

And lastly, this is how you do not want to route your hydraulic lines.
