Fired the old 8n up last night and did some plowing. After about 30-45 minutes it began cutting out. Almost didn't make it to the yard. Shut it off, checked the in-line fuel filter (it looked OK), put in a bottle of gas-line antifreeze and about a gallon of gas. (All gas in the tank was fresh). Let it cool off for an hour or more, then it started up with no cutting out. Everything electrical has been replaced except the coil. Think it's the coil?

After running for about two hours my 9N will do the same thing. Loosen the gas cap and see if it will run better instantly. My cap is unvented and yours might be the same. Good luck.

don't exclude the ignition switch from your list of suspects

YMMV

Yes Rick,
It sounds like the coil is breaking down.
