Had my trailer queen out in the 4th of july parade last week. She ran like a top, on the way back to the staging area (sherman in high, throttle max), the exhaust flange loosened up, the pipe dropped and I ran over the exhaust. Boy that sucker was loud. Oh well, it only cost me $20 and a little BBQ paint to get a new one on. Other than that, my hard work seems to have paid off, not a single drip of oil the whole day!

I made that mistake years ago with an F-12. I took it to our local show and didn't cover the mag. Rain shower came up overnight. Needless to say, it wouldn't start the next day. Pulled the cap off and let it sit and air dry all afternoon. Shortly before sunset we hooked a chain to it and pulled it hundred yards when it finally sputtered to life. After that I always made sure I made a cover for the mags to keep them dry.

Last show I was at, I had my 49 allis chalmers G ( trailer queen)... out.. rain came up quick and hard... rained out bad. Lotsa old cars.. early fords too. Half the vehicles had their hoods up/open. Everything got drenched. I managed to wrap a grocery sack around my distribuitor .. but it had already been raining 5 minutes. On the allis G.. the distrib hangs out from the hood... After the rain.. I hosed it down good with wd-40

At the end of the show.. they do a cruise-out parade.. half the engines wouldn't start.. Mine started.. ran on 2 cyl for a few minutes.. once it warmed up.. it went to three.. that was enought to get in the parade, During the parade.. the manifold ( real close to distrib)flashed the rest of the moisture off and i went up to 4 cyl. Boy I felt lucky there...
