I believe I have the piston type pump on my tractor. But since I"m new to this could someone confirm for me...

It has near one end: NCA 9058 (the 8 may be a 3)

Thanks,

Paul.

NCA-905-C would be the gear housing for the piston type pump, I don't see a NCA9058 or NCA9053. A piston pump is kinda shaped like a starter.

The piston pump is round(ish) and the vane pump is square(ish). The vane pump also has an flow control adjustment on the end of it. The pison pump does not.

The vane-style pump has a "variable flow valve" on it. It is a valve that has a thumbwheel on it like a quarter to adjust the flow. Are you having pump problems or something?

I definitely have the piston type pump as suspected.

Randall, I haven't had time to narrow down my hydraulic problems since I've been busy with work. I just wanted to become more familiar with the components of the system. I'm going to try to isolate what area of my system is causing the problem.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Paul.
