I ordered all the parts today for my 8n lift cylinder. Lift cover gasket kit with O-ring and backup washer, lift cylinder mine is bad, and NNA lift piston. My question is dose the washer go on the pressure side of the O-ring .
Thanks NorthTexas

If you rip that leather backup washer installing it, be aware that New Holland sells a newer improved backup washer that is neoprene and MUCH easier to install. On the leather washer, put the shiny smooth side AWAY from the o-ring and the rough side TOWARDS the o-ring.

Good luck,
Dan

Tex..... ....the improved "O-ring" NAA hydraulic lift piston has the leather backup ring installed (after soaking in warm water) first on the "non-pressure" side of the 1-ring piston. The rubber "O-ring" is mounted on the hydraulic pressure side of the 1-ring piston..... ....Dell

My NAA piston that I bought from NH had a hard rubber backup washer, worked just fine. You find these things out when you "Work" on these tractors not just "Read up" on these tractors.
