My 8N is leaking gas at the carburetor weep hole area. This has happened to me several years ago. Last time I went to TCS and got a new gasket kit, which did the trick. Now it's leaking again, I've tightened the cut off over the sediment bowl as much as I dare and it still leaks. Is it time for a new bowl kit with a new cut-off valve or should I try the gasket kit again?

You might also check the float level, needle valve and seat. If the float level is set too high or the needle valve is sticking it will do the same thing. When the fuel level in the carb bowl gets to the correct level, the float will raise and shut off the flow of fuel, if the float level is not set correctly or has a pin hole in it(making it heavier) it will not shut off the fuel. If the needle valve or seat has a little piece of rust, trash, gunk on them they will not function correctly either. You sediment bowl valve might have a bit of trash in it also, causing it to not seat. Drain the tank and take the sediment bowl off and clean it real good, or replace it. It don"t cost anything to clean, if that don"t work then replace it.

That a good Idea on clean out the bowl and as far as the Carb I just replaced the Float last year and that took care of that leak. Thanks

It sounds like your shut off valve - isn't. I would replace it.

Good luck,
Dan
