Where do y'all buy your plastic gas tanks for when you want to work on the engine without the hood on? I'm gonna check the TSC catalog but if they don't have it I guess I got to go to a repair shop....maybe?

That is pretty slick. Excellent idea for people with a shop who can hang it near the tractor and they don't have to worry about bungies or falling gas tanks. I'm still under the tree on the side of the driveway so I guess I hang it from a branch. You need to get yoursef one of those rolling IV holders from the hospital!

I"ve used a marine tank in the past- has a handle and shut-off. Works well.

Best solution that I have found is a 1-3 gallon weed sprayer. Remove the nozzle, clamp it to the fuel line, add some gas, pump it a few times, and start it up. Use a bunge cord to connect it to the tractor if you need to move it.

TSC doesn't stock them but at this point I wouldn't buy one. I appreciate all the good tips and I'm gonna see if I can find a junker on the curb come garbage day.....at least they are always there when I DON"T need one! Thank you!

I use a 5 lb. coffee can, with a brake line soldered to the bottom. Keep cover intact, and use small bungee cords to hold it in place. I only fill about a 1/4 to 1/3.

This won't work well for a moving tractor, but I get a 1 gallon gas can and set it next to my tractor higher than the carb. I run some aquarium air tubing from my gas tank (just stick it inside) to a stubbed out piece of old gas line screwed into the carb. This setup is very cheap and works well.

Good luck,
Dan

I will try and git ya a pic's and try and splain it. I call it giv'in it a I.V.. I took a 2"X 2ft long PVC pipe and capped both ends drilled and tapped one end fer a shut off valve and addes a hose with a filter and on the utter end drilled a vent hole and added a hook type hanger

Sounds like a great Idea. I use an old lawn mower tank, but with the hood off, I have some trouble finding a suitable place to hang it so that it's not in my way. The PVC idea could hang right on the dashboard or air intake or battery box or etc. Since you have already done it, I guess that the gasoline does not soften the glue? thanks...Ron

I have taken mine out of my old Wheel Horse lawn tractor, 'cause it lifts right out from under the hood, but I just bought a one gallon lawn mower tank at the flea market for $2.

I use one from a lawn mower its only a 1 qourt tank but will run an N for 30 minutes or so. A good lawn mower repair shop will have them. They will come in sizes up to around a gallion
