I bought a Ford one row corn picker at auction last night. They had to beg someone to bid on it. They beg someone to bid and all of the sudden it is a hot commodity when you bid. Anyhow, how big a tractor will it take to run the picker. Will an 8N do it?

We had one 50 years ago. It was designed to be pulled by an 8N. You will get along fine. As I recall, it had more than 50 grease zerks (but you don't need to grease all of them every 10 hours).
In their day, these little rigs won picking contests for machine pickers. I always enjoyed running ours with an 8N or NAA. They are very light draft. Cordially, Mike

The 8N will pull it. As mentioned, load and ground conditions will affect pulling ability. Certainly an 8N with a strong engine will do better than one that is worn out.
We had one and used the 8N originally but later used a Farmall H. This was much better pulling and better visibility.
I had a chance to buy one a few years ago at an auction for $25 but decided to just take some pictures. Besides, I had no place to store it and I really have no use for it.

I've been looking for one myself. Assuming that prices are similar in VA to those in AL, what did it go for, if you don't mind my asking?

It sold for $30. It would have sold for $10 but someone bid it up to $30. It needs a little sheet metal work, some new chain, a new belt and some cleaning.

My guess and that is it is yes an 8N would pull it. But if your also pulling a wagon it might slowly get to be to much for it as the wagon fills
