I had to remove an insert from my PTO to get my ORC to fit. Does anyone know what this insert is for? It fits around the PTO shaft so the ID would be about 1-1/4" and the OD would be about 3", it fills the PTO housing. It is made of metal and has a lip on it, I had to pry it out but it came out without too much trouble. It kept the ORC from going on the shaft far enough to get the pin in. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like someone may have pushed a speedy-sleave up on the shaft to cover the area where the seal rides to fix a grooved shaft.. and they just did it the easy redneck way and found one with the correct ID and OD and left the flanged side out towards the open shaft.

Without a pic.. that's my 'best' guess.

If you only cut the 'lip' off it should still leat the seal ride true.. if you remove dthe whole sleave.. check for leaks.

Again.. this may be 100% wrong.. but for a long distance 'mind-reading' style guess.. that's as close as i can get (GRIN)

Hey SouNdguy, maybe you can share your "long distance 'mind-reading' technique” with Dell.

He has been struggling with the art of mind-reading for a while now:-).

Was it you that was looking at the 5000?

Did you get it?

I noticed one in the local ad rag today asking $5500. Also noticed a 1100 MF for $3800. Said ran good and no problems. That's a 93 HP tractor. Doesn't sound kosher. Got to be something bad srong with that one.

Lot of tractors for sale these days locally. Sort of looking for another project.

I'd almost believe it on the big Massey F. I see the gig boys go for 4000-6000 here in my neck of the woods often..the 80-150 hp units. Lots of HP.. on the cheap.

I havn't got the ford yet.. but -may- call today and buy it. I had a bunch of unexpected bills all come in at once.. and had/have to make sure the money is there ( 5 year termite renewal inspection/treatment/contract on the residence.. 1250$!! and the county just paved my road... another 2600$, all due this month! ARGH! )
