Any opinions on this mower. They also have a disk. They will be in my area for two days and the prices are tempting. The mower is $799 and the disk is $360

Does look kinda flimbsy. Caster brackets of flat stock? Caster forks look thin, and thw whole thing looks cheap. Of course almost everything it seems is foreign made nowdays, but even on foreign made ones, there are good quality and bad.

You are better off with a somewhat used name brand, like a Woods.

Man you need to go to some nearby dealers and look their mowers over. TSC is getting to be about sole supplier of King Kutters in the SE and they sell the 6' finish mower for $1150, it can be had for about $900 if you can locate an independant dealer willing to deal. Many other brands are out there too, of course Woods and Deere will be near the $2000 range but they are good products as well. Check and see what is available, how it is built, gearbox HP and data, availability of parts etc. then compare to the $800 mower. Point is to shop and compare before buying and don't be had!

I have bought a couple things from Homiers traveling tool sales and both items were junk. I can't comment on their mower, but I had a auto darkening welding helmet, and a angle grinder. "Had" is the key word as the grinder did not last long enough to need a second wheel, and the helmet never worked right out of the box. I returned the helmet and got my money back, and scrapped the grinder and bought a Dewalt grinder, and a welding helmet from Harbor Freight. $800 is a good price, but only if it will hold up to normal use. If not it is a lot of money for scrap. Just my 2 cents.

These implements are supposed to be part of the homier tool sale featured at our local vol. fire dept.

I'm going to go up there with the trailer attached and see what they look like. I'm ready to wait if needed.

I'll try to take some pics and will report back with what I learn.

Thanks for the opinions!

I bought a farm pro carryall and ending up bending it. I also looked at the slip scoop but ended up buying a King Kutter scoop for about twice as much money, KK is 30" wide as opposed to 24" and made from angle iron as opposed to tube construction. I have backed my KK into hidden stumps that almost threw me off of the tractor, but didn't hurt the scoop at all.
Ya get what you pay for if you shop wisely.

I agree with Mike. I noticed the gage wheel brackets immediately. They take a beating and the brackets on that mower do not look like they will hold up.

Additionally, I noticed your comment: "They will be in my area for two days...." Not quite sure just what this means but if it is someone passing through with a truck load of them, I would be suspicious. Are they legitimate? Where will you turn for parts?

Admittedly, the price is tempting.

Dean

I would pass on it and start looking for a good used Woods mower or John Deere or Caroni. Those brackets that hold the wheels look flimsy to me. Most good ones I have seen are made with a boxed tube which is stronger. I gave 250 for my Woods RM59 finish mower in decent shape. Come fall there will be some deals on mowing machines of all types.

Oops, I mistyped. It's a 6' mower. The deck is 7 guage steel. I'll look at it this weekend.
