how to remove the 2N hood? 4 bolts on the dash.
Looks like another 4 bolts to the doglegs but they is fearsome hard to get at and really dirty.
Can I take off the doglegs with the hood? Is there another bolt somehow on the front grill or do that come off with the hood too? The underneath of this tractor is thick with filth and the bolts are being difficult.

Drain or siphon the gas and disconnect the fuel line at the sediment bowl. Disconnect the dash, clear the wiring harness and air filter. Loosen the bolts at the bottom of the dog legs enough to remove the grill. Careful, it will fall out so hang on. Remove the the bolts at the bottom of the doglegs. Remove the radiator cap. Stick a wedge between the dash and the hood so it is clear and will not hang up.
Stand in front of the tractor facing the hood, hike up your pants, spit, reach our grabbing the hood on each side, lift up the hood, step back, turn to the side and set it down; hood and doglegs together.

I had the hood off my 1944 a couple-three times and never removed the steering wheel. The wheel does get in the way some but blocking the hood off the dash helps.

Got hung up making pickles last night so I never got back out there. Seems this year my youngest daughter discovered gardening and I spend at least one night a week teaching her the manly art of canning produce. Actually been fun. Now it is raining again so I think I will have to put it off to later in the week....and it's going to be a busy one. Thanks again!

6'er,
Rob is right; you CAN remove the hood without removing the steering wheel. But I'll never do it that way again even with a very old mish-mash paint job. PITA clearing the radiator neck and getting the hood to go over instead of under the dash. Piece o' cake with the wheel off.

Drain gas.
Remove hose to carb.
4 bolts on dash
2 or 4 on the lower radiator hood.
2 people to lift off.
