The 8N engine is a sidemount (late 1950) which I ran before I removed it from the tractor. It had 90 lbs of compression in all cylinders dry and carried 20 lbs of oil pressure cold and 15-18 lbs hot. It did not smoke when run and we found no oil or water leaks when ran it.

The 9N has the original engine in it now S/N 9201. It is painted a gastly gold color but the paint seems to have kept the rust down. I ran the tractor with the 8N engine above in it and the transmission and rear end seemed to be OK. It was not noisey in any gear and the rear end did not seem to have any slop in it. It has the original large tank radiator and the dash mounted starter switch. The dash, battery support and steering box are cast aluminum and are in great shape. One of the radius rods has been welded and the pitman arms are welded to the spindles, Arggg.

If anyone is interested in either please email me. I am trying to get some money togather to finish the restore on my 1941 9N. I want to finish that one before I start another.

Thanks.

Paul K.
