Should have left her dirty.

I recently degreased and washed my 8n. after doing so she only idles and will not take any throttle with out dying. I have ensured the distributor cap is dry, fire going to the coil, cleaned the carb, and changed the condencer. No positive results from this. could it be a faulty coil? By the way it is a front mount distributor.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Ray

You may have to dry the distributor and not just the cap. Blow it dry with air or a hair dryer or pull it off and set in the sun...whatever.

Should be a gasket under the coil but even then if someone pulled the end of the bail out of the distributor body then it is probably not set back in right. Might be impossible to seat the bail properly with the bail over the top of the coil. When the bail is not right, the coil does not sit right and the gasket will leak.

Could be the coil but if you have a good blue spark probably not. Have you checked and put new oil in the air clearner?? After washing it you could have gotten water in there and then it would be chokeing it down if to full of an oil water mix.
