Well I found the problem, points had sliped. The old screw let me down so I replaced it. I also did a carb rebuild and I did a stupid thing when I did. I left out the brass tube in the carb, it would run but I could adjust the carb any to speak of so I fuigured I had missed something. Took it off and then found the brass tube laying there. Put it in and it now purrs again. Bad thing is I have done over 100 carbs and never forgot to put that in.

No but I did use a screw that was about twice as long, maybe that way it will get a good bite

WARNING - many have made the mistake of putting a longer screw in the breaker plate and it sticks down too far under the plate and blocks the advance weights from moving.

Old, you are not slipping, you just got in a hurry.

If you have done 100 carbs, you ought to be a pro at it by now.

Of course, with 20 tractors you need to be a pro:-).

Best regards,

Rick
