so with ya'lls help i got the electrical problem solved and got'er running tonight. Now after she warms up she backfires terribly especially when going over bumps. What causes this.

Also, my throttle won't stay at the position i put it in, it slows itself down slowly. How can i stop it from doing this.

Look for shorted wires causing it to sputter while going over bumps?

There is a couple of bolts that you can loosen and adjust the tensiontaht pulls the throttle lever down on the notched plate on the dash so it holds tighter. It is on the bottom end of the throttle rod and has a spring there too.
