8N Kirk from Kansas again,
Was wondering if you can put Weber Carb,s
on a Flathead V8?
I dont see why not if you had the right manifold,
and It would under the 8N,s hood?
Oh,and another thing,
When you get off these 8N,s,
Make sure,Darn sure that you lift your foot
out from under the brake pedal,s when you step off of the foot board,s,
I wasnt watching what I was doing when I jumped off of one yesterday at a dealer,
My stupid foot got caught between the brake pedal,s on right side, and I ended up falling
of of tractor,& rolling sideway,s into a small New Holland with a loader next to the old 8N,
I bruised my right ankle, and I tapped my head on the dumb left side of that loader,
I got a small goosegg on my head( It,s better tonight thank goodness),
But I wont ever do that again when I get on an 8N Ford NO WAY!

I usually mount and dismount from the left side but do also use the right side if the need dictates. In 52 years climbing on and off the 8N I've never fallen but did manage a trick with the Wagner loader.
I always climb over the left side using the front wheel then the hydraulic cylinder as steps. One day, about 15 years ago, my shoes were wet and as I swung my right foot onto the top of the trans. my left foot slipped on the cylinder. My reaction to save the vitals was to push away from the tractor. I ended up with my right foot caught under the steering wheel and my left foot on the ground. At 5'8" that is a bit of a stretch. I got bruises on my inner thigh and my ego, but saved the vitals.

Easy to get hurt around farm equipment if you aren't super careful. I stepped over the tongue of a 10 foot JD wheel disk last year and hung my toe in the hydraulic line. Tried to catch myself with my hand and tore the rotator cuff in my shoulder. Head missed the end disk blade by about 3 inches. If I hadn't put the arm down I would have hit it.

You were sure lucky not to have broken your ankle or leg, instead of bruising it. Thanks for the warning!

I have learned not to try to get off the tractor on the right side.
I got my feet tangled in the break pedals
and went face down off the tractor.
Missed a two bottom plow by just inches.
I would have been dead if I had went head first into that plow.
Now I always get on and off the tractor on the left side.

Wow! That was some fall.

You got to be mindful dismounting those tractors. Baggy overhaul pantlegs can hang on the early N foot pegs and put you in a bad place too.
