I am getting ready to sandblast, prime, and paint the frame and rear housing of my 1961 Ford 6000 diesel. From the picture you can see that it is bare frame plus rear housing. I have also removed seat, all lift arm assemblies, hydraulics, etc. It is basically a roller. My question, I have just a few areas on the rear housing where a shaft goes in, and this is an area where sand could enter. What have you used to cover this area where a shaft runs into a cast housing? Thank you. Philip.

RobertD is right, ductape works well for this. It's a good idea to stuff something in the opening first though. I used plastic bags like you get at the grocery store. Pack them in firmly. They give the duct tape some support so if you hit it with the sandblaster it dos'nt just blast into the hole. Good luck.

Ductape. Put it on and use a razor blade to cut the shape you want.

Robert
