In my "new" 1999 Silverado 5.3 with 83k miles, I"ve been putting 6oz of acetone from HD in each 21 gallon tank. My gas mileage is up to 20 round town and 26 on interstate from 15 and 18 respectively. Haven"t tried it in my 8n"s yet. Attached is article link on subject. Whadaya think? oz

Just for anyone's info Wal-Mart has 100% acetone in their paint section in either 1 gallon or quarts. I am trying it in my truck now, but forgot to reset the trip odometer so it'll be next tank before I can come to any conclusion.

I did not read the article but the downside is engine temps and sensors. All that exhause is sniffed a couple-few times so maybe acetone will trash them after some miles.
And the cylinder temps and pressures. Who knows? If you see cracks on the cylinder end of spark plugs or anything out of the ordinary then figure acetone.
Closely watch your soft fuel lines and fuel line joints where there are orings and such. I do not know if acetone is compatable with the material used in those applications. Watch for swelling. Any of the described damage could take several or many, many thousands of miles to show.
I know you sure cut the life of an engine using nitro! You get more power but you shell the dang engine.

That's interesting. Anybody know if there's a down side to using the acetone. I believe HD is Home Depot.

Did you find 100% acetone, and who is HD?
