I would like to know what the specs are for maximum RPM that a 52 Ford 8N should be set to, if you move the dash throddle adjustment to its maximum setting ?
Also is this set from the set nut and bolt below the governer ?
thanks

Ravi..... ..would it surprize you to learn the answers to your governor questions are found in the I&T FO-4 manual? ($22, cheap)

"Correct engine governed speed (no-load) with hand throttle in the wide open position is 2200 engine rpms. To adjust the maximum speed setting, turn the maximum speed stop screw in (CW) to reduce rpms, or out (CCW) to increase rpms."

Isn't that amazing?..... ...respectfully, Dell

Tom..... ...quite possible that yer "engine analizer" due to its solid state guttz might NOT WORK with 6-volts positive ground.

You can buy a watch battery operated LCD tachometer that gitts a "trigger" from yer sparkie plug and counts them. While you'll haffta set some small DIP switches for the number of cylinders yer sparkin', itt'll work on 1,2,3,4,6,8 cyls, positive or negative ground. Just double back tape it to yer tractor dashpanel. You can find this "trick" tach at independent small engine garden stores and outfits like JCWhitney. $25-50. Simple, eh?..... ..Dell

Actually mine is a 12V Neg. ground. Don"t know why the analyzer would not work..It would show volts but not RPMS..Been wanting one of the type you mentioned for my motorcycle so now I have double justification to get one...Thanks

I happen to have an old engine analyzer from Sears, purchased many years ago to work on my "65 Mustang. It has an RPM scale so I should be able to use that.Glad ya"ll started this thread because I had not thought of using it before to set my RPMS..I suppose some kind of similar gizmo would be needed...Thanks
