rj, i change my jub's oil every 3 months, but mine is a working tractor, that is i use it commercially, to mow, put up fence , blade ect, its also painted old ford engine blue and grey, because the pervious owner just happened to like that color, ive had it over 10 years myself and as they say, its your tractor paint it any color ya like,[ observe the pink jd below]

At least change the oil once per year.. if not twice a year.. or if it gets real dark or thin.

Crankcase has a dipstick on it for checking the oil level. don't forget to service the oil bath air cleaner as well.

Needing choke to start could be anything from weak sparkies ( coroded connections / bad switch / bad wires.. ) to a dirty/plugged carb, to a vacume leak.

OEM color was red cast metal, grey tin.

You might want to invest in an I&T FO-19 service manual.

Ralph..... ..yer Ford owners manual will answer all yer questions ...or... gittcha an I&T FO-19 NAA Jubilee manual. $22, cheap. Readily available from sponsors of this great N-Board. Many agricultural emporiums. amazon.com, BordersBooks, WalMart books. www.n-news.com also has great archive of 3-point implement manuals. Yer local CNH Ford/New Holland dealer probably sells it, isn't that amazing? Even my local (byte my tongue) John Deere parts counter has it for sale. Squander some beer money an readitt!!!

My Ford owners manual sez to change engine oil every 100 hrs or once a year. I change every fall. Now's a good time isn't it? I use 20-50wt oil in all my vehicles, but thats because I read and understand oil specifications..... ....respectfully, Dell
