My wife says it means that it loves me, but I'm not so sure...

My 7hp 3 cylinder compressor does just fine for all my stuff, but when it's up to pressure and I use the blow gun or any other hi-flo device, it moans while it's being discharged. I've never heard one do that before. I have a regulator at the output of the compressor to the pipe field that is set to full pressure (125 psi), and also have regulators at most of the work areas to provide different pressures for the different needs.

Whassup with that?

my guess - regulator. about the only active component in circuit - tank, regulator, fittings hose, air gun. (assuming compressor has a working check valve between it and tank). air hose is high cfm load. try cleaning regulator first. hth

My guess would be pipe rattle. Sort of like what old hot water systems did.
