will running a 1951 8-n very little,like just starting it and running a couple of minutes or so cause oil to build up in tailpipe?I was told it was bad to just run one a few minutes,i was also told it would fail the plugs.how much of this is true.... thanks Earl

Won't hurt anything. But if you are getting that much oil past your rings, you're not gonna be running it very long anyways. Fouled plugs.

It is BAD to run an engine a short time. Better to run it for long enuff to COMPLETELY heat the oil, to burn off the combustion By-products. As far as oil-fouling the plugs, depends upon the engine's condition. A engine in good shape should not have any ill effects. However, it is hell on exhaust systems! Corrosive By-products again! CC

Yes

Should run it till it reaches operating temperature.
15 or so minutes in summer.

thanks for the quick respose on my questions...I wen out and ran it up and down the road for about 15 minutes and it was drying out.thanks again guys... Earl
