I replaced the brake pads on my 1950 8N and don't have a pedal on the left side. I have them adjusted to where they should be but no pedal. It doesn't stop even if I stand on it on the left brake pedal. Any ideas why this is happening. It did not work when I bought it either but the pads on it were bad. I don't have any leaks on it. Everything in the brake drum looks good to me.I had the drums turned and all looks to be good.

Does the brake mechanism move when you apply the brake.. or is the cross shaft froze up?
