Thanks to the IT FO4 manual and THIS BOARD! I succesfully tuned my tractor for the first time. She wouldn't fire so I trouble shot by reading archives, and got to the distributor and volia.
But I have a question. After some issues with the cooling system, I have determined the problem may be the water pump. It is moist and rusty colored inside the outlet where the bottom radiator hose attaches and that part of the hose. Now coming out of the radiator bottom outlet and that part of the hose it is green and wet(coolant). This is before flushing with Vinegar as recommended by some of youse. I hav'nt done that because I do not think I am getting good circulation. Also looking up into the pump it "appears" rusty. All the coolant I drain out though is green. The pump is making no odd noise nor is it leaking. My questions are, Is it normal for the pump to look like that? Will the tractor circulate enough without the impeller on the pump?( I did not see them from looking in) but I did not take the pump off. The MPC shows the impeller may not be visable.
Please comment and/or answer. Thanks Rick T.

Sorry for the long post but someones Ex Wife said he flunked mind reading :)

Rick..... ...congratulations on yer first successfull tune-up. What a learning experience, eh?

It is "normal" to observe rusty-slimy deposits inside engine waterjackets and waterpumps and radiators. And it is "semi-normal" to observe an "oily-sheen" floating ontop of the radiator water. Most modern automobiles prevent you from looking directly into their water by using camoflauge techiques called water overflow resouviors. So you never see it in modern belchfire-V8s.

Nothing you have said indicates any valid reason to replace your waterpump and I have never found a good reason for chemical flushing radiator systems because by the time you finish flushing, yer radiator tubes are paper thin and very succeptable to leaks..... ....Dell
