I've never tried to plow a 3 foot snowfall with a horse, but you've got me thinking,,,,,
It ain't a pretty picture in my head right now!
With winter coming on, and horses having a poor survival rate while grazing on snow, I guess I'll keep the tractors until spring.

I'll think about that from about Nov to March when the N's are rarely used and I watch my neighbor feed the horses, water the horses, groom the horses, exercise the horses, muck the stalls & wait for the Vet & farrier to show up. I'll also give it some thought when I spend 5 minutes checking the oil, water & gas in the N before I use it for 4-6 hours w/o a break. Then when I put it in the pole barn & turn off the key & gas & go get a beer & watch the neighbor taking care of the horses after riding them for a couple of hours. If you want to work horses because it is fun & a nearly lost art, that is admirable, but it is not going to be a cost or time savings over a tractor!

Why would I get A horse when my tractor has 26 horses? Seems like I get a bigger bang for my buck.
