This new project of mine has raised a question about spark plugs. The ONAN had H8's in it, crosses to AL216, which is medium heat version of the AL437 (high heat) plug we all know and love. Can I run those in it without doing any damage? It might be using some oil until it gets through the pitting problem...

Some scary ONAN prices -
Piston & Ring Set (1 each) - 105.91
Carb Kit - 179.10

I'm thinking maybe I can't afford this FREE genset!

Ramrod..... ...the H8 is colder than the H10 which is colder than the hotter H12's which cross to the AL-437's. Because the AutoLites seem to have a "wider" heat-range than Champions, the AutoLite AL-216 which crosses to the Champ H10 probably is cool enuff. Hotter sparkie heat range is to burn-off deposits caused by high oil consumption cause by worn rings or gasoline lead deposits. Cold sparkies are used to prevent pre-ignition but foul eazier..... ...Dell
