I still don't think I understand how to do this. Pooh Bear was kind enough to give me his method (on September 17, 2005), but I'm not sure I understand it. Could some others give me their interpretation of how to post an image? Thanks, Tom.

Try this in reply to Tom in Iowa, 10-09-2005 09:14:37
Go to Tiny Pic, www.tinypic.com
Click the Browse button and find the picture on your computer.
In the Optional Tag box you can put a name for the picture.
Or you can leave the Optional Tag box blank.
Then click the button Host My Picture.
Wait for the picture to upload and go to the next page.
On the next page scroll down the page
On the left side there will be four boxes.
Click on the box that says Tag and highlight it.
On your keyboard hold down the CTRL key and hit the c key.
Go to your post here at ytmag and where you want to post the picture,
Hold down the CTRL key and hit the v key.
This will copy and paste that code into your post.
Then just post as normal.

First you have to put your photo online, on a picture site. Lets use this site. On the left you'll see tractor photos. Open that, and follow the steps to upload your pic. After it's on the photo site, go in there and open your picture. Right click on the picture, then left click on "Copy address" Now you come over here to your post and down below where it says "Optional image URL. left click to put the cursor in there, then right click and left click on paste. You're picture will appear in the post. Ron

OK, I re-uploaded my photo to the "Photos" section and now I am trying again, using the (I hope) appropriate thingie for an image, rather than a link to the webpage. We shall see. . . OH! IT WORKED!!!!! :-D

You attempted to post a link to a website page, as an image. A link to a page goes in the "optional link URL", then you could put "look here" or whatever in the "link title"
Right mouse click on image, get the "properties" of the image, in your case it was>Link
Now,>Link paste that into the optional image URL and you get this.

FDawn, it looks to me like you have your pic in the tractor shed, I can't link it from there either. Try uploading it into the tractor PHOTOS I think you'll have better luck.

ITS EASY- ITS FREE, and if its free, its for me in reply to Tom in Iowa, 10-09-2005 09:14:37
Free, just register, I'm sure they sell your info and increase spam..but..its free, and we all know theres no such thing as a free lunch, right?

Ok, I've been using photobucket for three years, easy to use, quick simple with digital cam to post pics in a few minutes from when you take them.
You'll need the digicam and its software- you're on your own there- but the photobucket is the way to fly.
Take a pic CROP it to a reasonable size, usually 800x600 max, keeps those poor slobs on dial up from having seizures.
Easy, follow the buttons, upload, delete, add etc. etc.

Then, copy the top line of the image stuff, usually reads http://blahblah.com/yourtractorpic.jpg, stick that on the optional image URL (below) , or add "tags" They are behind

Yep, photobucket's a great site, but if your going to use them, (and I do) Then be a real hero and post the thumbnails into the body of the post, rather than use the full size pic in the url.
It'll sure be a time saver to us, po foke on dial up. LOL
I used this site, figuring that if he needed help posting a pic, he'd probably need help with a host site as well. PLUS,, Kim's site free with NO registration. Ron

Check mark the pic you want, then scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on "Generate HTML AND IMG codes" Then copy the top box labeled. "HTML clickable thumbnails for Ebay, Livejournal, MySpace, etc. - recommended "
Bring that over here and post it in the body of the post and a clickable thumbnail will appear.
Ron
