Country Boy has been there as I have. Left rear went on my wifes 02 shortly after it turned 36,000. Dealer parts wanted $120 for the lift. I called my friends body shop and he said come on down he had a totalled 02, wrong side was good. He called the Lincoln Merc dealer and they would sell a new one to him for $85, turned to me and said $130 installed, I had removed the panel and seen the rivits and seen the glass fall so it sure was an easy decision!

Jeeze, on those Merc Marquis/Crown Vic,and the Lincolns circa 2001 , ,, PITA!!! But, like the others said,, it can be done. One tip I learned was they fail and often more than once. After I had drilled out the rivets holding the moter in, I replaced them with small screw/bolt with locking nuts. Makes it much eaiser next time.

Another tip, get you a C clamp that will fit in and hold that durn heavy window from dropping down on your arm when you take the levers and rollers and what not off.. Turst me on this!!! :-)

Good luck...

I've done it on the right rear door of a Grand Marquis. You have to almost disassembe the complete door. I had to remove all of the moldings around the door frame & essentially strip the door down to the door frame & skin to get the old regulator out & install the new regulator. Not fun; it took me a few hours. The only good news was that the door regulator was reasonably prpiced. Good Luck! GA Jim

First you'll need to grow the arms and hands of a 10 year old girl to reach inside the door panels and get to the bolts etc. Remove the inside door trim panel. From the information given I'm down to find and fix the problem or replace parts as necessary.
Good Luck, Lee
