Looking at my I&T manual last night and low and B hold it sounded like all you do is pull the thing out and I learned this morning that for a fact that is how they work. I LIKE THIS!!!! I priced new axles from NH at $161. Are the less expsensive afetmarket axles just as good?? I need to get a new one in there pretty quick I already have a new hub fron NH setting on the slelf.

I can't help you with the comparison - only to say the aftermarket axle worked fine. Might not be as good of a quality as the NH version... Don't forget - the new axles will not have the bearing pressed on it. You will either need to remove the old bearing (if it is in EXCELLENT shape) or get another bearing to press on. I used a 2" piece of PVC schedule 40 pipe as it slipped over the axle shaft but fit perfectly on the inside ring of the bearing. This way, I just used a big hammer and a piece of board over the PVC pipe to pound the new bearing in place. TIP - use a light film of grease on the axle and inside of the bearing to help it slide on easier - it is a tight fit.

Good luck,
Dan

Thanks for the tip Dan I was thinking of the bearingfigure I better just get a new one and replace all the seals so that it will last a long time. I may try an aftermarket axle. Richard
