Well I put a new head gasket on this morning. I am getting good at this (not really), and it is still blowing white smoke after startup. Looks like a cracked block? Should I use some radiator stop leak and just run it?

Sounds like you did this a few times. So you know to retourqe the head bolts after warming the engine. Most of the cracks are obvious but some are hidden behind the valve covers. There is an 8N block in the local dump that had a small crack behind the valves under the valve covers. It was almost impossible to see but opened up after some heat was applied. Think positive you may have an easier problem to fix. There are many 8N work tractors out there with weld repair blocks.

Russ..... ...I'm nottafanna block stop-leak. And while blocks do crack, usually on the outside leftside above the starter, I've never heard of combustion chamber cracks or exhaust valve seat cracks. Not that things like that don't happen, it's just not common weakness.

Make certain yer wet exhaust manifold studs arn't leaking into yer exhaust manifold causing you to see mysterious steam out the exhaust pipe.

Remember, at certain times of the year, it is perfectly normal to see "steam" out the exhaust pipe before it warms-up. Has 'nuttin' to do with block cracks, just plain temps and humidty.

Iff'n its truely leaking anti-freeze, you'll beable to smell a sweet-smell of anti-freeze. And you do realize the necessity of anti-freeze, don't you?

And iff'n yer absolutely certain you have a "cracked block", have yer block "magni-fluxxed" checked or "die-penentrant" checked. Your local machine shop is famaliar with these procedures and products.

My money is on leaky exhaust stud-nutts aided and abetted by local weather temp and humidity..... ...Dell
