Need Help, I used my 8N Friday for about 4 and a half hrs. of heavy cutting. Went to put her up and to take the sherder off and it won't start, all I get is that long grone. The engine dosen't even turn over. I remember the noise from the old days, I just don't rembemer what the cause was. Help

If the engine will not turn over at all, the probablities are: dead/weak/bad battery, poor battery cable connections, frayed/worn/too small cables or a bad solinoid or starter. Try charging the battery before you do anything else.

That where I recall that noise, it's from my mother old 1956 dodge, that my brother and I cut or teeth on. My 8N reminds me of it a lot. Before I forget as in all posting, Thanks in advance Guy's. I cleaned my posts, but I think my battery is a gonner.

When you say groan.. sounds like the starter spins but bendix does not spin in.

possible causes are a dirty shaft.. or a weak battery not spinning up fast enough.. or broke bendix..
