I found a 2-14 and I think it is an Economy. 10-156? I can get for $200 it doesnt have a tail wheel but was told the mount for it is there. The boards and shares are in decent shape I am told. I am thinking this is a good buy am I correct? Also does anyone have an estimate on what a new tail wheel would cost for this plow? This is just what I am wanting.

I'm in SE IN and like OH Boy said, 2x12s are readily available around here for $200 - $250 but not in good condition. A good one will bring $350 if sold at the right time.

I have a very good Dearborn 2x12 with with coulters and jointers that I would not sell for $500. I also have a good 2x12 without jointers but otherwise complete that would probably go for around $300.

It is probably easier and less expensive to find a good complete plow than to buy the needed parts to complete and repair one needing much.

The round wheel with 4 holes in is around $80.00, the arm and hub should also be available if needed.

Dont know where you are located but around here (Central Ohio) you can get all the 2 bottom plows you want, COMPLETE, for $200 to $250. I only paid $165 for my Ferguson 2-14 including coulters and furrow wheel.

Just have to watch the ads and maybe go to an auction or two.

I think they are asking too much for that plow if it is missing parts.

Hi RW,

You answered your on question. You want it.

I sold an old Ferguson two bottom mold board plow a couple of years ago for $250. It did not have the tail wheel either.

I think that is a fair price. HTH. Rick

Yeah I agree I did really answer myself. I sure think it is a good deal for it since it has the new style bottoms and I am sure I can get ahold of a tail wheel. $250 does seem to be a common price and then I see them advertised up north for close to $500 some places. Also this plow has both coulters and he says there are no cracks or welds. Richard

My Ferguson plow was in good shape and I did a lot of plowing with it without the tail wheel and it did a great job. The guy I sold it to was really proud of it and did not even try to negotiate the price (not that I would have taken less; it was not even for sale and the gentleman was visiting and asked me if I wanted to sell it.).

As OH Boy said, prices can differ due to geographical location. However, I suppose you could offer him $150 and see what he says.

Best regards,

Rick
