There is an ad in the local paper for a "6 ft box blade. Used once. $250"

Can a 1953 Golden Jubilee handle a 6 ft box blade?
Is $250 a good price for a 'used once' box blade?

I do realize I need to determine if this is a flimsy brand to better evaluate the price.

Paul.

How's the hydraulic upgrade working? I use a 5 footer in this hard red clay around my place. I think a 6 ft would probably work well smoothing drives and loose dirt and such. A box blade around here is not capable of doing much packed dirt moving. It will but is time consuming.

Randall,

The hydraulic upgrade worked great. I've been using the front loader quite a bit over the summer.

Thanks for your help.

Paul.

You should be fine handling the box-blade, I had my(heavy)6' box-blade on the 8N today. Your NAA has a few more horses.

When I drop the claws down it's too much for the N's traction(lots of spinning), but she does fine w/ the blade. The weight of it gets much better penetration than my angle blade.

Jeff

paul, the jubilee will handel a 6 footer so long as your not trying to do rip out work or scrape thru clay or rock [ the wheels will just spin] if you dont want it after you see it tell us along with what brand it is and where it is, one of us may want it ericlb

First have to give you a hard time LOL which is it a NAA or a Jubalee?? Yes a NAA or Jubalee should handle it pretty good as long as you don't bite off to much at a time.

Well thats a yes, no, and sort of. The jubalee does have a couple of things that are differant then a NAA. There just little things but an Naa and a Jub are differant. But not where it counts as fra as doing work. Engine, tranny are the same but not all the sheet metal.

Actually - the ONLY difference is the center hood badge - which will not affect the ability to lift a box blade (grin). The sheet metal is identical, the body is identical, and there are absolutely no differences in the mechanics between the tractors.

All Jubilees are NAAs, but not all NAAs are Jubilees. They only called them Jubilees for one year (1953) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ford. Otherwise - it is just a name, and there are no differences between the 53 NAA Jubilee and 54 NAA tractors other than the nose badge.

HTH,
Dan

I knew that LOL I was just giveing you a hard time, joking with you. And whats really bad is you can pawn a NAA off as a Jub just by putting the JUb emblem on a NAA.
