My 47 8N has homemade wheels on it right now. What I mean by that is, the center part of the original wheel, I think, has been welded to another car rim or something. Plus they are 15" rims and I know they shouldn't be. My question is, should my 47 8N have 16" or 19" wheels? I would like to go back with the correct size when I do get some. Thanks.

The single rib 19" front tires were a dream when you were plowing. They followed the previous furrow easily. The 3 rib will do quite well. The 16" tire 3 rib follows the furrow, but I find not as easily as the single rib. It does track out of the furrow if you are not paying attention, especially if you are watching and adjusting the plow and not the front tire. Your choice, either way, They are correct. Just make the decision which way you want to restore the tractor. Good Luck

I prefer the 19" wheels because the tractor steers easier. My 50 frontmount came w/ 19" wheeels, so when I got my 50 sidemount w/ 16" wheels, I could easily do a side-by-side comparison. I got 19" wheels for the new tractor. They will, however, cut a groove in damp/wet ground quicker than the 16" wheeels, so be careful. Wheel choice really should be contingent upon the use of the tractor; clearly, with a loader, you need 16" wheels; I've got them on my 51 w/ the loader. I use my two 50's mainly for grass cutting & plowing/discing, so 16" wheels are not a major issue for me.

19" wheels were standard, then 16" were optional cause they were wider and folks used them with loaders. If you don't plan on using a loader, I like the 19" just because the way they look. I use my NAA mostly for mowing, so I have turf tires on the back and 19" motocross tires on the front. They have decent traction plus do not tear up the lawn on a short turn.
