Anyone know how to remove the throttle quadrant plate. Mine is worn and will not stay in place. There is a rod that goes thru it, that's connected to the throttle. I know that the plate has two screws to hold it on, but I am not sure how to get that rod out.

Just did this on my 8N - look under your air cleaner "can" - you will see the linkage rod that goes to the carburetor (front of the tractor)-that is also attached to your throttle shaft. Disconnect the spring loaded connector first (from the carb), then remove the bolt that holds the linkage lever onto the throttle shaft - this bolt actually goes into a "slot" on the throttle shaft, so remember that when you reinstall it. Pull down on that linkage to remove it from the throttle shaft, remove the spring, also. Then go "up top" and pull up on the throttle and out it will come.
