I know this is OT, but you guys are the most knowledgable anywhere. I went up to Talkeetna, Alaska on Tuesday and helped a friend pull an old Jacobsen golf course lawn mower out of a snowy 300 acre field. The farmer gave it to him. Now it's time for a restoration, but don't know anything about parts availability. Does anyone know anything about this brand or if parts are even available? Thanks for any help! Jon

Jacobson golf course mowers are one of the best and most durable mowers made. I used one before that my Father-in-law had and mowed a large lot that an 8n couldn't handle. If it's a Turf Cat the new price 20 years ago was $9000.00. And it was worth every penny. If should have a Onan engine which is considered the best small engine made. It was a good find.

Hi Jon,
I did a quick google search "Jacobsen mowers" and got this website:
Link
I didn't look through it but it is a place to start.
I have my original 1971 Ford (Jacobsen),10 horse, 42" mower deck and 4' sickle mower. My son and grand sons restored it and now there are 3 more Fords in the barn to work on and 2 Jacobsens.
Jacobsen built lawn tractors with their name, Ford, MM and Oliver. The MM and Oliver are more rare and are like gold if you want to buy one when you find it. hth

I know nothing about these mowers but I have some NOS-OEM parts. If you can give me a part number, I'll check my parts list.I'll sell real cheap since I do not deal in these. They were included in some other NOS parts I bought from a Ford dealer. don b

Hi Don. I'm interested in your parts. I've made a note to myself to pull out my books and look up the part numbers.
If you have any numbers to start with, send them to my e-mail: smateavp@comcast.net

Thank all of you for your good advice. I'll pass it along to my friend who just adopted this old Jacobsen. He and I will be working a lot on it, I'm sure!
