Grabbed the 8N this morning to get some work done and it started missing at high rpm's. Points, plugs, condenser, wires, and still the same. Spoda be warmer tomorrow, so I'll clean the carb then. Sudden thought just hit me, that I replaced the coil a couple weeks ago, and she hasn't done any work since then... could be I gotta re-try the old coil as well. Ron

If it's just missing at high RPMs, it could be that the spark advance weights in your distributer are sticking. Like maybe a screw is interfering or something. You might want to pull the distributer one more time to check them out. You'd have to pull the points plate out to get to them, and they should be spring loaded and set up to move outward by centrifigal force at higher RPMs..HTH...JMHO...Ron

Let me guess its frount mount dist. If so I'd almost bet your points sliped, maybe a stripped screw which they just plain love to do.

That's what I thought too, but it happened before the tune up, and didn't get any better. Had the dist out 3 times and double checked. Didn't slip a bit. Right on .015.

Aw man! I can see why that would be frustrating! I hope you are able to figure out what's wrong quickly and easily.
