third party image

I have had this picture for a few years and thought I"d share. Zane saw it and told me the bearing wasn"t needed. Richard

Great Picture. I read the posts carefully on welding three beads and decided to drive out my sleeves. After the first one, I just welded three beads in the remaining sleeves (.090) with a wire feed welder set pretty low and moved fast.
I turned over the block when they cooled and two fell out. I pushed the remaining one out with my hand. I then put three beads on the valve seats and bingo same results. I wouldn't try it if I hadn't welded a lot of stuff.

That's a great photo! LOL Um . . . I guess I will stop right there instead of making any of the additional comments that come to mind.

There is supposed to be an "evil grin" after that last sentence but I guess if you put something in the little angular brackets they vanish ('cause they're supposed to carry code). Sorry about that. :-)

Great pic, Richard.

I've heard that the challenge is getting the old sleeves out as opposed to driving the new ones in. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Rick

I would imagine everyone is talking about removing the late model cast iron sleeves. That's a huge fuss.
