Looking to buy an ATV for some r&r in the woods. Looking at some quad runners from Redcat Motors. Made in China with what is presented to be copies of Honda Engines using expired Honda patents from the 70's and 80's. Looked at the bikes last week and they look good. Price is half what Korean and 1/3 what Japanese bikes would cost. (200cc 2X4/$1500). Any one have any "REAL" experience with these?..Ron

The problem with the knockoffs is getting parts or service. I would rather buy a used brand name machine myself. Remember, you get what you pay for.

If quality was my only consideration, I would just buy the Kawasaki 750 for $7500 and go. But if I can get a similar vehicle for $2000? Is the Kaw (made mostly in Korea and China) 4 times as good as this Redcat? In other words, will it last 4 times as long?
Is the Sony TV made in China 4 times as good as the Sanyo made in China? or 3 times as good as the Zenith made in France? At some point, we have to realize that most of what we buy is made in some foreign country (even our own beloved Fords) and ultimately "price" along with some expectation that the company will live up to it's promises, is in most cases the determining factor whether we buy or not. Quality, which is somehow determined by higher price and PR will always be like beauty...in the eyes of the beholder...

I was just hoping that someone who owns one could tell me about his personal experience.
The salesman (if we can believe him) told me that parts and service is available and since the motors are identical to Honda, Honda parts will fit.

I looked on Ebay and there were several aftermarket parts for sale. This is a good sign, doncha think? Thanks for the post..Ron
